This dual nature is reflected in the space itself, envisioned as a direct expression of ISSEY MIYAKE’s product philosophy. Rather than relying on conventional storefront elements—such as entrances and display windows—the design extracts only what is essential to the space, creating a seamless experience in which visitors engage with the product in its purest form. A series of white cubic fixtures, precisely aligned at the center, form a “moving platform” whose shape can be freely reconfigured through sliding. As the arrangement of products shifts, the fixtures move—and the space transforms. When the form changes, the space changes with it. Static, yet dynamic. Abstract, yet functional. This shop is constructed as a device that conveys the potential of form embodied in BAO BAO’s geometric composition—clearly and succinctly.
