A space quietly accumulates time from the moment it is completed. It is inevitable that walls and floors will wear down and materials will change. However, even as the space ages, the “display” within it can remain perpetually fresh. This idea served as the starting point for the design of this shop. In this space, only a horizontal structure resembling a “musical staff” is permanently installed to hang products. All other fixtures are flexible “jigs,” designed and produced according to the merchandise. The positions of hooks can be freely adjusted, allowing each combination to create a unique display expression every time. Whenever new products are introduced, a jig tailored to them is designed, so that the display can always be kept up-to-date without altering the space itself. Freshness is continuously renewed, much like in a market. Think of a smartphone. Its body may age over time, but by updating apps, its functions and experiences are always refreshed. This space is designed on the same principle — as an “updatable structure.” Colorful Pleats Please accessories float lightly like musical notes drifting in the air, creating a gentle rhythm. This is an attempt to bring together the inevitability of aging and the potential for constant renewal within a single space.
