MOMENT

"Material Presence"

The space is enveloped with aluminum panels hammered using Japan’s traditional metalworking technique, "Tsuiki". The uneven hammer marks and subtle gradations of haze on the surface softly reflect the contours and colors of the products, creating an experience rich in depth and weight. Slight warps and scratches that occur during the process of flattening the hammered sheets are intentionally preserved, while the space’s clear layout, stripped down to essential lines, highlights the material’s inherent expression. The seemingly simple structure of BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE is a culmination of skilled craftsmanship. This interior design reflects the artisan’s advanced techniques through the texture and feel of the materials.
